Listening to: Swing Swing, All American Rejects
Ouch. I was looking up the catholic saint Catherine because apparently she was killed on a torture wheel or Catherine wheel as it was called later. Apparently she wasn't placed on the side of the wheel nor in the center.
When the medival people used the torture wheel a victim's limb was placed along a spoke and a gap between the spokes. Then someone would hammer the area of the limb thus breaking the bone. They would repeat this until all the limb bones were shattered. After that they would thread the broken limbs through the wheel spokes and raise up the victim with the wheel so that the birds could eat the still living victim.
Wow, that sound actualy quite painful... Especialy 'cause apparently they wait a couple of seconds before breaking the next bone. I wonder if the limbs just went numb afterwards when they were threading them thorugh the spokes or did it just hurt like hell? We'll never know I guess...
Well I guess that's all I hope you liked that I may put some others up later but not now ttfn!
